  Truly believe that Heath did deserve this award. He threw his all into this part and it shows. Nicholson was good back when he did the Joker, don't get me wrong, but just as there are different breeds of dog there were different breeds to these Jokers. Nicholson's was playfully dangerous but Heath's was vicious dangerous. You could survive an encounter with one but not the other.

  He didnt get the award because he died (and it was an accidental overdose from pills), he got the award because he played the joker amazingly and he wasnt playing another Jack Nicholson. The director wanted to go a different way with the joker, if you had read anything about the film before it came out. (this is directed at junkfinder and airwave). Its the new Batman, its not a remake.

  Heath is and was an excellent actor. It's a bummer that we will not have the honor to see what he would evolve to. The saddest part is the reason why the movie was such a big hit was because of his death (don't get me wrong, he was excellent in it) and I would have to agree with "junkfinder"...... "Winning an award for a drug overdose is not an achievement... sorry."

  AMAZING MOVIE! I HAVE SEEN IT 25 TIMES. IM NOT EVEN KIDDING I KNOW I SHOULD PROBABLY GET A LIFE AND BLAHBLABHBALH BUT WOW AT LEAST IM NOT WATCHING CINDERELLA 25 TIMES. YOU GOTA GIVE ME A LIL CREDIT FOR THAT. BUT I LOVE YOU HEATH LEDGER!!!!!!!

  Its amazing that this movie nearly got shut out almost every category and it is the second biggest movie of all time. Heath was incredible with is performance but the movie as a whole had to make Heath look good too. And for this film to win only 2 awards, sucks major ass. The Director deserves to WIN best director just on how well the story flowed and getting the best out of his actors. Well done

  Heath deserved to win the best supporting actor award.. He played a magnificent demented joker character.. It was his greatest performance ever and it is only fitting that it be acknowledge even beyond the grave.. You rock Heath.. Rest In Peace..
