    i think there is a clear way to c best pic over films with better character showcasing. reader is good for character showcasing, but on a whole grasping all the elements of labor and work and musical score and edge of seat factor slumdog def wins.

    As much as I loved Doubt and JPS (Joe vs the Volcano...luv that film!), The Reader is a better film. That being said, I'll buy both on DVD.

    This is the only major film that did not send out films to voting members of the Academy. Not a surprise that it was left out of the nominations.
