  Meryl Streep has been favorite actress for many many years but Kate comes a close second and I have to say, I really hope Kate takes this one based on her performance in The Reader alone (her turn in Revolutionary Road compounds it, of course).

  I've seen better performances this year but Kate Winslet is such a tremendous actress, not to mention the fact that she's long overdue for an Academy Award®. My vote: goes to Kate!
