Viola Davis was fabulous. She played a very difficult role and pulled it off beautifully. She was powerful and made the movie.

Viola Davis has only one scene in DOUBT, and she doesn't need to burst into pyrotechnics. She only has to walk and talk and deliver a speech that freezes you to death while you're still deciding if the doubt is right or just plain wrong. What you've seen before and what you'll see after will change for ever and Davis' silent strength is effective and it shapes the whole film.

Another wrong corrected: Marianne Jean-Baptiste, another great actress, is on "Without a Trace." And NO she does NOT look like Michelle Obama, I agree! Where did THAT come from?

To correct a wrong here: Regina Taylor, another sublime actress, played the mother of the pregnant teen in "Lean on Me." Viola Davis is a phenomenal actress and I thought she KILLED it in "Doubt." Overrated someone says here? Hardly. She gave her scenes with Meryl Streep great emotional heft and matched Streep in the acting stakes, a hearty feat indeed. I am rooting for Vio

No she does not look anything like our First Lady and no she is not from "Without a Trace". Just because she is black does not mean she looks like Michelle Obama. Doesn't anyone remember that she was the pregnant girl's mother on "Lean on Me" with Morgan Freeman?

Viola Davis couldn't have been in "Doubt" for more than six or eight minutes. But those are some of the finest six to eight minutes I've ever seen on celluoid. This is a performance I won't soon forget. As for the rest of the movie, terrific!

Im so proud of her. She has always been good. Im glad that its being recognized on the big stage. She pretty much had a long monologue in the film. She wasnt in it long but she leaves a lasting impression. Held her own with Streep, Hoffman and Adams.
