  he is one of a kind guy who put a great show in DarkKnight movie he take Jack N joker out of the water how he make his joker far past the in 1989 Batman becase H L make it his own that why is really was always will be a great joker & a great actor in mind soul same with his fans from comic book or not he will be miss & he will be loved always for his work in movies .

  overrated for this preformance. guess he posthumously tugged at the heartstrings of hollywood. not that he's a bad actor, he just wasnt all that great in this movie. had an oscar preformance in brokenback mountain. ah hollywood....glitter, glamour and guilt.

  You people comparing the Dark Knight Joker to the original Batman Joker are just plain idiots. The Dark Knight and Batman are two different story lines and these are two completely different characters,they should not even be compared at all. I saw the movie and admit it was good but not Oscar good. Wow...make a movie...do drugs...overdose(accidentally?)...die...win an Oscar!! What F'D up world!!

  To be brutally honest when I heard he had died it did not really have much of an impact on me...then I saw The Dark Knight and for the first time saw the Joker as he always should have been played. He left everyone including Nicholson in the dust with this preformance and the only thing I would change about this award is the title..it should read Best Actor 'cause he carried that movie. Brilliant!

  i cried when he won that. he definately deserved it. and i cant beleive people are saying anything negative about it. thats really f--- ed up to joke about someone who is dead. and as for the whole drug addict comment, they were perscription painkillers for depession that led to an accidental OD. im sure youve never expierienced depression or the effects of it and you dont know anything about him.

  Are you serious? You guys are STUPID. Health Ledger single handedly did a better performance than Jack Nicholson, thats just TOUGH, even though the Oscars f--- ed Nicholson over when One Flew Over The Coo-koo's nest.

  I would've been disappointed if it went to anyone else. He did an OSCAR WORTHY performance and I truly believe it would've done just as well if he had been alive to receive it. I think it's awful what people can say about a such a talented man who died too young. I hope Matilda never sees these words against her father, because eventually she'll own that Oscar and she deserves to be proud of him.
