Richard Jenkins

Nominee Image for Richard Jenkins

Richard Jenkins gives a subtle, unstated performance as a lonely economics professor who befriends an immigrant couple squatting in his Manhattan apartment. This is his first Oscar nomination.

I liked The Visitor very much... and I think he is a great actor... I suppose he would've deserved an Oscar... I'm sad :(

I just found out about this movie and it looks really good. I'll see it tomorrow. Jenkins was really good in 'North Country' with Charlize Theren.

I know he won't win, but he deserves it! A superb performance, hitting just the right notes. He has done such nice work in the past, too. Would be nice to see someone "unexpected" get the recognition he deserves. But at least he got the nom.

Unlike most of the films I saw in 2008, The Visitor really struck a chord with me and was a movie I kept thinking about long after I saw it. Richard Jenkins is an incredible actor and played this role perfectly.

I would love to see him win. His performance was perfectly understated.
