To all you Penn haters, like his view points or not he is a hell of an actor and human being. Just remember the scenes of him in new orleans helping his fellow man in time of tragidy. I'm sure he's done more than any of us sitting on here blogging and judging.

Sean Penn did a fabulous job portraying a character developed by the writer, and nothing more. I read that Harvey Milk was NOT a nice person, which the movie neglected to truthfully portray. I can certainly understand that Milk probably had to have incredibly thick skin considering the times, but it is important to understand we are watching a certain level of historic fiction.

I felt disapponted that he won. I consider that Mickey Rourke did a great performance in the wrestler. Moreover, Sean Penn acceptance speech about proposition 8 was out of place. This is not Congress is Hollywood, c'mon.

Sean Penn is a good actor and if Harvey Mile was alive today he might have been either the first gay man elected to the Senate or to the governship of California. harvey Milke wass ahead of his time.

I would have preferred to see Mickey Rourke win. All the critics agree that his performance was amazing; and I like seeing someone who's been down-and-out rise from the ashes and come out on top.

Sean Penn continues to critique himself to a perfection of self in his work, almost to a fault, when on the big screen and improves his acting skills every time he steps in front of and/or behind a camera be it as a director, writer or actor. Just when you begin to think that “he couldn’t do better” he stuns us away with another stellar role.
