If this goes to anyone but Kaminski ("Diving Bell"), I'll be peeved. If it goes to Deakins for "Jesse James," I'll be outraged (though he did manage to make Winnipeg look like the American West), Deakins for "No Country," I'll be OK. And if Elswit for "Blood," that'll be OK, because his work on "Good Night and Good Luck" was also breathtaking.
And it goes to...
Elswit! Could this mean a tide of good things for "There Will Be Blood?"
May I be the first to write the headline you may see tomorrow... Oscar said, "There Will Be Gold!" or "I Drink Your Oscar!" or "He drilled for oil and struck Oscar!"
And now... the montage of dead people. Please, whatever you do, do not hold your applause. Let us know which people's lives you value most. It is, after all, one big popularity contest.
He who dies with the most applause wins.

I don't have a TV on. Who was the big name to be the loudest given post-mortem applause. maybe they'll air Goulet on the ceiling.

LOL at the applause comment. I can't believe I didn't say it first. I noticed Ingmar Bergman seemed to get the most aside from Heath.

Brad Renfro's passing went unnoticed. I think he was a very talented actor and it is more then regrettable that Hollywood did not put more effort into getting that list right.
