The Foreign Language award goes to... another foreigner! Man, what is UP this year?
Well, at least it wasn't the French this time. "The Counterfeiters" is from Austria and looks fantastic. It just opened in American theatres two days ago and this could be a great example of an Oscar really providing a boost to a movie that otherwise wouldn't get seen much in this country.
The award also helps prove my theory that when picking a movie in your Oscar pool, always bet on Holocaust.
And if you still haven't seen last year's winner, "The Lives of Others," put it in your DVD-by-mail queue now. Really, now. I'll wait. Come on, it's a dance number on the TV for crying out loud.
