Oscar Blog Post

OK, I got through my last pre-Oscar movie. Tommy Lee Jones is infintely competent. He will not win tonight.
Now I'm back to watching E! and blogging. E! has given up all pretense about product integration. Earlier today, a style expert happened to show up with a certain brand of lipstick in his hand. Later, all the Oscar party recipes happened to involve a certain candy-coated chocolate candy. Now, they're showing dresses that -- what a coincidence -- can all be purchased at a certain chain of retail stores.
Me, I'm all about integrity and movies. And whoever is sponsoring this blog at the moment (See the lovely banner ads on top of and to the right of this post? I heartily endorse that product or service).
Oh right, the movies. Well, here's how I spent my weekend...
Sunday: "In The Valley of Elah."
Saturday: "No End In Sight," "The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," "Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience," "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," "Gone Baby Gone."
Not only was the quintuple feature my longest day of movie-viewing, it was the day of the longest titles.
Friday: "I'm Not There."
And during the entire movie, I wish I hadn't been. Ugh.
Also during the week I saw "The Diving Bell and Butterfly" and "La Vie En Rose." That's a whole lot of French with subtitles. Next year, remind me to see the Transformers-type action flick in between.
Vive Les Oscars!
