Good Morning!
Here is the first of what will be many, many blog postings today on Oscar Sunday.
It's been quite a weekend so far here at Yahoo! Movies Oscar Blog Headquarters (also known as my apartment). I've been busily catching up on the remaining nominated movies I need to see, arranging for interviews, trying to read the notes I've made in darkened movie theatres, and making sure I have enough popcorn and caffeinated soda to get me through the evening.
I'm setting the DVR for tonight's festivities and I see that E! has just begun its live red carpet coverage. It's 9 a.m. in Hollywood. The carpets aren't even being vacuumed yet. According to the TV listings, the coverage on E! is scheduled to continue -- live -- straight until showtime at 5 o'clock. That's a full eight-hour workday. How will they fill this time?
They're starting out by interviewing their own: Kim Kardashian, who, according to the hostess, is now a "style and trend expert." I suppose if the style is showing a large behind and the trend is making a sex tape (and then having a reality show), I'm all ears.
Next, it's hairstyles, shoes, jewels, and monkeys. Yes, monkeys.
It's raining in Los Angeles. I wonder if the floods are coming to wash this all away.
TV is about to get much better. In The Valley of Elah is OnDemand.
I'll check back in afterwards.
