  • What's Philip Seymour Hoffman Keeping Under His Hat?

Philip Seymour Hoffman must have been having a really bad hair day when he rocked this knit cap at the Oscars. Steve Granitz/WireImage.com Philip Seymour Hoffman made an interesting fashion statement when he donned a knit black cap to the Academy Awards. Sure, it's February, but it was actually 75 degrees in LA on the day of the Oscars, so what gives?

Apparently, the "Doubt" star had a good explanation for his headgear. The actor's rep, Karen Samfilippo, told USA Today that he's wearing the hat in order to cover up the coif that he sports in "Jack Goes Boating," a film that Hoffman is currently starring in and directing. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait 'til the movie comes out in 2011 to find out what's under that hat.

I really liked the Oscar presentations with previous winners from the same categories... I did not like the way the show portrayed deceased actors, etc., this year. I couldn't see the names of the people who died because the screen was so far away from the TV camera presentation. Also, Ben Stiller's little "performance" was degrading to the show and to Natalie Portman. It wasn't funny!

Imagine if this guy is your father. You'd have the ugliest father ever. Plus he might try some funny business.

The hat was just gross- everyone understands long hair at the Oscars; they assume it's for a role. Just look at Adrian Brody!
