  • Oscar Red Carpet a Snooze

Everybody wants a piece of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie when they walk the red carpet. Steve Granitz/WireImage.com I wasn't sure what to expect from this year's Oscar red carpet. To be honest, I wasn't even sure I wanted to tune in considering the economic turmoil our country is in. Did I really want to watch the stars strut around in expensive gowns and borrowed bling when people are losing their jobs and their homes? Turns out I did, but unfortunately the red carpet coverage was kind of a bore.

E!'s "Live From the Red Carpet" was pretty uneventful, aside from a couple of uncomfortable moments thanks to Ryan Seacrest, who kept trying to create a non-existent real-life romance between "Slumdog Millionaire's" Dev Patel and Freida Pinto. They're not dating, okay?

Later in the broadcast, Seacrest breathed a deep sigh of relief when Brad Pitt actually stopped to speak with him -- even if it was only for 20 seconds. (He couldn't live down another diss like he got from Brangelina at the Golden Globes!)

This time around, the awkward Brangelina red carpet moment of the night went to Tim Gunn, who hosted ABC's overly exuberant Oscar pre-show along with "Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts and Entertainment Weekly's managing editor Jess Cagle.

Gunn jumped off the stage to grab a minute with Brad and Angie, and proceeded to tell them how they were the "most glorious couple on the red carpet." Unfortunately, Gunn was gushing so much that the supercouple didn't get a chance to say a word.

In both Seacrest and Gunn's defense, I can't help but wonder why Brangelina didn't arrive earlier to do a few interviews on Hollywood's biggest night. They were both nominated, and they know we all want to see them. Throw us a bone!

Christian people were to lead men and women to god , not call them names . How does a christian win & what is a the goals when she/he claims to serve Jesus Christ & the lord god . Does name calling & attacking some thing in any way because you don t approve of it while collecting followers . Or is dis like and fear give a proclaimed Christin right to vent , is that a holy action.

I wish the best life can offer for Angelina and Brad the best caring giving couple in Hollywood. What happened in New Orleans and Brad was there to help more than all the donations we were ripped off for and all those people left in New Orleans with nothing but love . I can't beleave he stepped up and he really helped being one person with such love and giving. Brad and Angelina are good people

well I just read the article... I think the 2 think they are way above any other actors in there field, so why show up early ?? They need to come back to the real earth. I havne't heard much from Angie, however what interviews I have seen of Brad have been good ones. Now I wait and see what she can bring to the table...
